NAFLIC has represented amusement ride inspectors for over 35 years and offers support to members in a variety of ways, as well as keeping them up to date with information relating to their inspection activities, technical and incident bulletins, guidance documents and more. Additionally, the association provides a forum for members to meet and discuss areas of common interest and is also open to other individuals and organisations working within the amusement park and fairground industry who are able to join as associate members.
NAFLIC exists to represent the interests of inspectors, to promote safety in the fairground and amusement park industry and is the technical arm of the industry. NAFLIC provides periodic seminars and courses to update inspectors on specific fields of inspection. NAFLIC issues technical and incident bulletins to make its members aware of safety issues that have been identified by other inspectors. It produces technical documents with advice on such issues as design and inspection.
If you have problem that you cannot resolve, NAFLIC members are always available to give advice. If you should be unfortunate enough to have a serious incident, NAFLIC will provide help and advice so far as is reasonably and practically possible.
Probably. If you are ADIPS registered then there is almost certainly someone somewhere in NAFLIC that is familiar with the work you do. The great benefit of NAFLIC membership is that you have access to other members, some of whom have 40 years’ experience in the industry.
NAFLIC needs your input. We want to know what problems you face, what types of device you inspect and what your main concerns are. We would like you to come to the AGM and there are often vacancies for members on sub-committees. We need a cross section of interests on those committees so that they truly represent the inspectors’ opinion and concerns. We may also ask you if you would like to be involved in assisting with sub-committees writing new codes of practice or guidance.
Remember, NAFLIC is probably your only route to ADSC and ADIPS and the only way to have an input into the industry’s organisation and standards.
Membership of NAFLIC may not only be of benefit to you but to others involved in your area of the industry.
